Gamercon took place in Dublin over the weekend and many people have deemed it a disaster. The organisers of the event have apologized for the severe delays experienced by ticket holders.
It billed itself as Ireland’s largest gaming event and it was aimed at children and families. It took place in the convention centre in Dublin on Saturday and Sunday. The event boasted a host of gaming tournaments and interview with professional gamers.
However the event was marked with large queues of children crying and distressed parents who say that could not gain entry. It was reported that 25,000 tickets were sold for the event but the venue itself can only hold 7000 people at a time.
Hundreds of families were left queuing for hours outside the conventoin centre with many then being turned away.
Some attendees said they were left for two to three hours standing outside on Saturday, while others who made it into the venue said there were lengthy queues for everything from games and meet-and-greets to food.
